Complete Obituary: George Douglas Dreher, 60, of Angelica
George Douglas Dreher, 60, of Angelica, NY, died Thursday, September 5, 2019. Known as Douglas, G. Douglas and Douglas Fir to his friends, Douglas enjoyed his little property in Angelica since he moved there from California over ten years ago. He had big dreams of making it into the "smallest vegetable farm or the largest vegetable garden" in the county. Through the years he met many people through the Angelica, Alfred, Hornell and Perry Farmer’s Markets working with On the River Farms and selling his own produce from his land which he deemed Bad Raven Botanicals. He enjoyed growing things that were unusual such as Red D' Florence onions, White Icicle radishes and Lista de Gandia eggplant, and many who would have never had a chance to experience produce such as this found themselves a new favorite.
Next to his land, Douglas held NFL football close to his heart and was a fount of football statistics. He spent many Sunday afternoons with his friends praising the merits of his beloved Minnesota Vikings and San Diego Chargers. Douglas was also an avid fan of history and military proceedings, as he once served in the US National Guard. Services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com.
