Wellsville: Village issues stern warning about fire department meddling

During the past several months, the village and town of Wellsville have experienced conflicts over various aspects of the volunteer fire department. Some have been public while others have been behind the scenes. The fire department is operated, mostly, by the village. The town (outside the village) has a fire protection district and contracts with the village for service. The town also provides funding for the fire department tanker and brush truck, another topic which has spurred debate.
