Allegany County: Fun for all at the Fair

Contestants from age 0 to 6 months category, line up for the annual Fair Baby Contest at the Allegany County Fair Wednesday
Fun at the Allegany County Fair Wednesday included the Fair Baby Contest an annual event which draws children from across the county and beyond. This year nearly one dozen kids from age zero to three showed up for the contest judged by Mark Stone, Beth Fleischman and Jim Eshelman.
The Baby Contest is judged in four different age groups, 0 to 6 months, 6 months to 1 year, 1 year to two years and two to three years.
The Judges decide which babies are the friendliest, sturdiest and daintiest.
In the first category, Lyla Kelley of Angelica was the friendliest; twins Gabrianna and Liam Romero of Belmont were the daintiest and Freeman Brauen of Wellsville was the sturdiest.

In the second category Adelaide Elesessor of Angelica was voted the sturdiest and Wren Bonnerman of Belmont won both the daintiest and friendliest.
In the third category Diell Betsa of Wellsville was the friendliest, Jack Santangelo of Cuba was the sturdiest and Judah McElheny of Rushford was the daintiest.
In the oldest category, the only category that was all boys, Spencer Foster of Clarksville was the sturdiest, Lincoln Yanda of Wellsville was the daintiest and Timothy Simons of Angelica was the sturdiest.
The contest winners took home $1 in prize money, a ribbon and cotton candy fluff.

The 175th Allegany County Fair continues Thursday with the annual meeting of the County Legislature at the fair, a tradition that began less than a decade ago. the meeting takes place at 2 p.m. in the Mini Theater and the public is encouraged to attend.

At 6:30 p.m. the Kid's Rodeo takes place at the grandstand followed by the Boys and Bulls Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.
Friday features competitions throughout the day. At 4:30 p.m. the Grange will hold a chicken BBQ. At 5 p.m. Trigger Happy opens for Country Music Star Keith Anderson in front of the grandstand. Anderson takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday competitions continue. At 11 a.m. the Allegany County Talent Show takes place in the Mini Theater.
The annual Demolition Derby starts at 5 p.m. The fair ends at 11 p.m.
