The students, members of Alco Federal Credit Union, were
chosen based on their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.
The Scholarship is named in honor of John Patterson who
served as treasurer of Alco Federal Credit Union for 32 years. He was a retired
electrical engineer and was an active beef and tree farmer. His dedication and
contributions to the credit union were insurmountable.
The high school seniors who received the awards are:
Christopher Calladine from Andover Central School and Logan
Kelley from Cuba Rushford Central School.

Christopher Calladine will be attending Jamestown Community
College for a degree in Welding. He is a member of the National Honor Society
and National Technical Honor Society as well as an Honor Roll Student.
Christopher was Captain of his Varsity Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball teams.
Along with volunteering for the Andover Sports Boosters he earned a number of
honors for his athletic skills. He was a Big 30 All Star for both Soccer and
Basketball and played in the Ronald McDonald House Basketball games.
Logan Kelley will be attending Jamestown Community College
with plans to later transfer to Alfred State in the Vet Tech program. She is on
the High Honor Roll, in the National Honor Society and a Chapter Star Farmer.
She has won both a Public Speaking Award as well as a Community Development
Award. Logan as been Treasurer of her FFA for 3 years while serving as Vice
President for a year as well. She was the team captain of her Competitive Cheer
Team for 2 years and in Select Choir where she also served as Treasurer. She
also played on the softball team.
Alco Federal Credit Union has been serving its members since
1953 with four convenient locations in Wellsville, Cuba, Belmont, and
Friendship. Becoming a member is now easier than ever with only a $5 minimum
deposit required for membership to all those who live, work, or worship in
Allegany County.
