WASHINGTON D.C. (WETM) - New York State Trooper Nicholas Clark of Canisteo will be among 371 fallen police officers commemorated on Monday, May 13 in Washington, D.C.
Clark's name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial during the 31st annual Candlelight Vigil.
Clark was killed last July when shots were fired between police and a man barricaded inside a home in the Town of Erwin.
The memorial will now have over 21,900 names of fallen law enforcement officers from across the nation.
The memorial serves to dedicate and by also "telling the story of American law enforcement and making it safer for those who serve."
