Centerville man arrested for welfare fraud, filing a false instrument


State police on Wednesday arrested Jamie E. Irwin, 33, of Centerville for Welfare Fraud and Filing a False Instrument. An investigation led troopers to discover Irwin had allegedly filed false paperwork with Allegany County Department of Social Services, by which he obtained $858.45 of public assistance to which he was not entitled. Irwin was arrested and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Belmont Village Court in April.
