BATH - Steuben County legislators face a full agenda including acceptance of a state grant of nearly $805,000 when they meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday at the County Office Building, 3 Pulteney Square. The grant, from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, will pay to develop, sustain and maintain statewide communications for first responders in Steuben County. Other agenda items include:
* Changing one part-time Conflict Defender to one full-time Conflict Defender in order to absorb additional casework due to changes in the state’s mandated representation for low-income defendants.
* Authorizing the county Planning Department to apply for a state Community Development Block Grant.
* Entering into a five-year sales tax agreement with the cities of Corning and Hornell.
