Allegany County Youth Bureau monthly report

Resource Management Committee Youth Bureau Report February 16, 2019– March 15, 2019
STOP – The report for the STOP-DWI portion of my position will now be separated out in a report for the Public Safety Committee.

Youth – On 2/27 spoke with Town of Independence representatives regarding a request to use their funds for necessary upgrades to their youth baseball field.

Youth – On 3/4 attended a meeting of the PPAC/Family Matters committee to discuss an upcoming event. I will be attending and participating in YMCA Healthy Kids Day in April.

Youth – On 3/11 Met with Brooke Bradt, Social Worker at Genesee Valley Central School to discuss an upcoming event for the school that would incorporate Youth Bureau Activity and STOP-DWI. We are planning on mock crash drill at their campus that could be attended by other schools as well.

Youth – On 3/13 I participated in a conference call through the State for Youth and Young Adult Services. Much of the call was devoted to the claims process with the state and issues that other agencies have had with it.
Youth – On 3/13 I attended the Western NY Association of Youth Bureaus and Youth Boards (WNYAYBYB) meeting in Lancaster. Planning was being done for an upcoming training to be held on April 10th. There are also other opportunities for training coming through area youth bureaus that I am going to try to attend. They may not apply to what we are currently offering for programs, but I think it will give me some good ideas of what is out there to pursue in the future.

Youth – The quarterly meeting of the Allegany County Youth Board is scheduled for March 20th.
