Belmont: Firefighters ready to serve "locally famous" chicken BBQ on Sunday
The volunteer Belmont Fire Department will serve its "locally famous" chicken BBQ this Sunday Oct. 15. The proceeds will benefit the Southwestern Firemen's Convention that is coming to Belmont in August of 2018. 200 chicken dinners will be sold on a 'first come first serve' basis. Cost is $9.00 for a full dinner and $6.00 for a half dinner (which is just the chicken). Take outs should be ready to serve at noon at the Belmont fire hall right by the falls in Belmont. Fire Chief Chris Plummer said this morning this will more than likely (weather permitting) be the last BBQ until Superbowl Sunday. Oh yes, the firefighters do one then too!
