Nunda man had day ruined after arrest

Mount Morris: Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Nunda man for drugs and weapons charges following a traffic stop. On June 15, 2017 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Deputy Mike Wade was on routine patrol when he stopped a vehicle on Murray St. in the Village of Mt. Morris after observing a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the traffic stop, Deputy Wade discovered that the driver, 24 year old Emihr A. Rios, was allegedly in possession of an illegal stun gun.  Rios was subsequently arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.  Deputy Wade further discovered that Rios was allegedly in possession of Alprazolam pills, a controlled substance that Rios did not have a prescription for, which led to the additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th charge. Rios was also issued traffic tickets for Failure to Keep Right and Unlicensed Driver as he did not have a driver's license. Rios was taken to the Livingston County Jail and held on pre-arraignment detention.  Rios was later arraigned in the Village of Mt. Morris Court before Judge Lapiana where he was released on his own recognizance.
