A Richburg home was damaged by fire this morning. Bolivar and Richburg volunteers received the call for a "working structure fire" just after 5 a.m. at 156 Reed Street, Lot 4 in Richburg. Extra help was immediately called in and several "exposures" were at risk. Tankers were called from Clarksville and Allentown, which also sent masked firefighters as well. FAST teams were also called from Allegany County and Westons Mills. By 5:24 a.m., fire investigators were brought to the scene. The fire chief requested the American red cross at the scene to assist the resident(s). Wellsville and Shinglehouse firefighters provided standby coverage.
The cause is under investigation. There were no reported injuries. By 7:30 a.m. most fire equipment was returning to service.
