Farmersville woman charged with welfare fraud

Cattaraugus County Deputies Friday arrested Tierzah J. Carpenter, 34, of Farmersville. She was charged with welfare fraud 4th and felony grand larceny 4th. Deputies made the arrest following an investigation by the Department of Social Services, which alleged that Carpenter failed to report income and fraudulently obtained $1,977 in benefits. She will answer the charge in Olean City Court July 11, 2017.
