New York State Troopers from the Bath barracks report the
arrest of a Bath woman stemming from a joint investigation conducted with
Steuben County Child Protective Services.
Carolyn A. Rossman, 32, of Roosevelt Avenue in the Town of Bath was
arrested on Wednesday for Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a class “A”
misdemeanor). According to State Police
Investigator Brian Mayhew, on the evening of May 5th, Rossman (allegedly)
intentionally allowed a five year old child to remain outside, unsupervised
during hours of darkness, while she was intoxicated and consuming alcohol
inside her residence for an extended period of time, while also allowing the
child to remain in the immediate company of individuals known to her to engage
in criminal activity. Rossman was
arraigned before Bath Town Justice Watches and remanded to the Steuben County
Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 and is scheduled to reappear in the Town
of Bath Court on May 17th at 6:00 p.m.
