Wyoming County man charged with heroin possession

On April 11, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Red Apple on Route 78 in the Town of Sheldon for a report of a male subject that was passed out in the driver’s seat of a car in the parking lot. Upon arrival, Blake Cooper, 20 of Java, was responsive. Deputy Chance Sampson allegedly observed three hypodermic instruments (syringes) along with suspected heroin baggies on and around Cooper in plain view. Strykersville Ambulance, along with Medic’s checked Copper out for health concerns. Cooper signed off on any further medical treatment. Deputies said Cooper failed sobriety tests.  Cooper was brought back to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s office where further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert was completed and allegedly found  Cooper to be under the influence of heroin. Cooper was charged with Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.  Cooper is to answer his charges on 05/22/2017 in Sheldon Town Court.
