New York State Police Blotter – July 1, 2025
7/1/25 8:19 p.m. – On April 28, 2025, state police
were called to investigate a fraud complaint in the town of Andover. Tuesday
night, troopers arrested Derek J. Ruth, 41, of Elmira. He was charged with
felony first-degree possession of a forged instrument, a class C felony. He is
being held in the Allegany County Jail on no bail.
7/1/25 5:05 p.m.- After investigating a domestic
dispute in the town of Belfast, state police arrested Gary F. Cassidy, 56, of
Belfast. He was charged with obstruction (preventing an official function) and
criminal mischief. He was taken to the Allegany County Jail for Central arraignment.
