League of Women Voters of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties is Honored as One of 37 Champion Award Winners for Supporting Nonpartisan Student Voter Engagement During the 2024 Election

Olean, New York: On Wednesday, April 9, 2025 the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) recognized students, faculty and staff, presidents, athletic coaches, partner organizations and election officials for their exemplary leadership in advancing nonpartisan student civic engagement. From civic learning to voter participation, these leaders are empowering students to become lifelong participants in our democracy. ALL IN honored the League of Women Voters of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties  as a  Stand Out Local Nonpartisan Partner on ALL IN Awards Day, a virtual day of celebration.

ALL IN supports more than 1,020 campuses nationally to make nonpartisan civic engagement an ongoing part of campus life.

We are more than proud to have been nominated and chosen for our nonpartisan efforts at local colleges and universities in our two New York county areas as well as in neighboring Bradford, Pennsylvania.

This honor puts us in good company with 2 other local Leagues from New York state, 1 from Florida, 3 from Ohio and 1 from Virginia also being awarded this honor.  We value our collaborative partnerships with institutions of higher learning and thank them for all of their efforts to inform and engage young citizens.  We are especially pleased to have been nominated by Cyan Corwine, Director of Global Engagement and Civic Wellbeing at Alfred State College, said Margie McIntosh, President.

Despite long lines and an increase in restrictive voting laws, college students did not sleep in on Election Day 2024 they were determined to make their voices heard in 2024, said Jen Domagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. Elections matter, and with 100,000 local elections happening across the country in 2025, ALL IN campuses continue to ensure that every student has the information they need to cast their ballot. The award winners recognized today lead by example, making nonpartisan voter participation a core part of campus life.”
