Pennsylvania Troopers investigated several crashes in Potter County
December 2024
12/7/24- State Police say four people were in a
vehicle when it crashed on Route 6 in Pike Township. Troopers said the driver,
49-year-old Jennie R. Gleason of Belmont, NY was traveling east on SR6 during
heavy snow. Police said she lost control, struck an embankment, causing her
minivan to roll on the driver side. The passengers were able to get out and were not
injured. Troopers said the driver was “entrapped in Unit 1” and reported minor
injuries. Galeton fire was able to free the driver and she was taken to and
treated at UPMC Cole. Police said all occupants were wearing seatbelts.
12/9/24- Coudersport-based troopers investigated a
one vehicle crash at 5:37 a.m. on State Route 49 in Harrison Township. Police
listed the driver as Alyssa M. Burdick, 25, of Ulysses. Troopers said she
struck a deer, causing airbag deployment and severe front-end damage.
12/4/24- State Police said two people escaped injury
when the vehicle they were in began sliding in the snow and went off the road.
The driver, 35-year-old Maria Vieira of Elmira and a passenger, also from
Elmira, reported no injuries. The driver was issued a ticket.
12/21/24- Troopers from the Coudersport barracks
investigated a two-vehicle head-on crash on Bark Shanty Road in Keating township.
The drivers were identified as Sarah M. Jansen, 23, of Saint Petersburg,
Florida and Quinn K. Smith, 26, of Pittsburg. Austin ambulance transported
Jansen to UPMC Cole was a suspected minor injury.
12/20/24- A Genesee, PA man escaped when his vehicle
crashed on Bingham Center Road in Bingham Township. Trooper said Michael S.
Grimes, 62, of Genesee was driving on a snowy road and his F250 overturned. He
was evaluated at the scene by Genesee Ambulance.
