Anna May OLSON, 95, of Galeton, PA, died Tuesday, December
24, 2024 in her home. Born August 5,
1929, in Greece, NY, she was daughter of Jesse S. and Iva E. Long Loucks. On November 6, 1950, in Bethesda, MD, she
married John Albert Olson, who predeceased her on December 19, 1999. A graduate of Galeton Northside School, she
was employed as a telephone switchboard operator and by Smith of Galeton
Glove. She served as secretary/treasurer
of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Galeton for many years and served as a Girl
Scout Leader. Anna May was a member of
the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary since
1961. Among Auxiliary projects she
participated in were making balaclava, lap robes, and caps for veterans at the
Bath VA and soldiers overseas. She loved
to hunt, fish and camp at Kinzua.
Surviving are: two sons, John J. Olson and Mark A. (Diane) Olson, both
of Galeton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda
Kelley of Cairo, GA; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Ellen A.
Dean; a granddaughter, Alissa Gay Dean; and a brother, William A. Loucks. Services will be private. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery,
