PRESS RELEASE
The New York State Police in Geneseo are investigating complaints involving Livingston County residents receiving telephone calls stating that a member of their family was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The callers demand large sums of money in exchange for bail money. The exchange of bail money is requested to take place at the residence of the person receiving the telephone call. The New York State Police is urging Livingston County residents not to provide their address or any other personal information if they receive similar telephone calls. Anyone with specific information regarding similar transactions in Livingston County are advised to contact SP Geneseo BCI.
