The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that work to repair a land slide on State Route 54A in the Town of Pulteney will begin the week of September 16, 2019 and will
require a six-week road closure. The location of the work is approximately 12 miles north of the Village of Hammondsport, located between Parker Hill and Chidsey Hill Roads.
Both directions of traffic will be detoured around the site using Boyd Hill Road (County Road 74), Pulteney-Browns Corners Road (County Road 78) and Italy Hill Road (County Road 32).
A second closure will be established in mid-October along Route 54A in the Town of Urbana for approximately six weeks to repair a landslide located one mile north of Hammondsport near County
Road 76.
Both directions of traffic will be detoured around the site using South Pulteney Road (County Road 76) and Boyd Hill Road (County Road 74).
The two locations are currently controlled by temporary traffic signals which are facilitating alternating one-way traffic. Upon completion, these landslide repairs will restore two-way traffic
along Route 54A, limiting further disruption.
