Wellsville: Town board says NO to relocation

Plans are crumbling to relocate village and town offices to 23 North (the former Burrous Building) on North Main Street in Wellsville. Wednesday night, the town board declared it would not relocate its offices. Officials said there just isn't enough space. Meanwhile, the village has yet to formally commit to moving either.
When 23 North was acquired by a private developer and the Alfred Housing Committee, the plan was to move government offices to the first floor with apartments on the second and third floors. The apartments are a go...but everything else is up in the air. Alfred Housing said this week that renovations are about 50% complete.
