Court rejects appeal from Addison convicted murderer

A state Appellate Court has upheld the murder conviction of an Addison woman. 47-year-old Alice Trappler is serving a prison sentence of 25 years to life. Trappler had coordinated the death of Daniel Bennett, who fathered her child. He was shot and killed in 2012. After a break-up, prosecutors argued that Trappler wanted to make sure the father never had visitation rights with the child, or custody. They say that’s why she had him killed. The actual shooter committed suicide a short time later. Trappler is currently being housed at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. She won’t have a parole hearing until December 2036.
