Belfast School Superintendent responds to teacher arrest

Belfast school official statement: 
On the afternoon of May 10, 2019, the Belfast Central School was notified of secondary Math teacher, Christopher Enlow’s arrest.  Mr. Enlow taught at Belfast Central School since August 2017.   
Please be advised, the District no longer employs Mr. Enlow.  The Board of Education accepted his resignation at a special meeting this evening (May 10, 2019).  Be assured, the District has cooperated and will continue to cooperate with authorities, and is committed to the well-being of all students. 
 
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) from the Amity-barracks of state police  arrested Christopher A. Enlow, 25 of Hornell for Endangering the Welfare of a Child. According to a press release the BCI responded to Belfast Central School to investigate a possible relationship between a teacher, Enlow and a 15-year-old victim.  Further investigation revealed that texts of an intimate relationship were allegedly established.  Enlow was arrested and processed at SP Amity.  Enlow was arraigned in the town of Belfast Court. The Sheriff's Office said Enlow was not an inmate.
