Allegany County Employment & Training Center May 2019 Report

Front Door Traffic: 430

Employment: 4 new part-time & 1 full-time jobs with 5 employers

Unemployment: March rates: Allegany County 6.1%; NYS 4.1%; US 3.9%. Locally, 13 new unemployment insurance applicants~ 3 fired, 7 layoffs from several employers

Veterans: 5 Veteran utilized our services for job search, DOL services and SNAP

Business Services: 41 services provided to 41 businesses (2 new business contacts) for outreach, job listing, follow-up, job matching, referrals, youth work experience and summer program worksites. Administered 8 TABE(Test of Adult Basic Education) tests~ 5 DSS, 2 private industry and 1 for Training

490 services provided: Family Assistance 68; Safety Net Family 3; Safety Net 147 and SNAP 272


Safety Net/Family Assistance Employment Assessment Class (EAC): 9 assessed; 3 completed; 5 denied; exempt; 0 reapplied


Non-Custodial Parent Program: 35 active participants; 20 employed; 2 receiving UIB.
WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Program Year 7.1.2018-6.30.2019  
Youth: 17 enrolled youth, 12 in unsubsidized employment, and 2 in Work Experience, 39 Youth received services in February.



Training: 6 in training for Practical Nursing and 3 CDL-B

Trade Act: 9 Outreach contacts; 2 appointments and 5 in training for Computer Information Systems, Culinary Arts, Electrical Engineering & CDL-A&B
