The following information has been provided by Allegany County District Attorney Keith Slep:
April 21, 2017: Ryan R. Mitchell, 25, of Snowball Hollow Road is Scio was sentenced by Judge Terry Parker to five years probation for committing a string of burglaries last year in Scio and Wirt. On April 21, Mitchell pleaded guilty to burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. He had originally been charged with seven counts to include escape from custody. Mitchell was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $3,467.
April 27, 2017: Brent E. Lewis of County Road 9 in Scio was sentenced by Judge Thomas Brown to one year in the Allegany County Jail. He pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance after prosecutors said he possessed and sold heroin to an agent of the Wellsville Police Department in 2015. He was also ordered to pay $40 in restitution plus a DNA fee.
