News from Cuba

Courtesy of Cuba Police Department:

On Monday April 24th, 2017 Cuba Police Officers will be participating in the Governors Traffic Safety initiative to keep our school zones safe. Cuba Police Officers as well as Police Officers across the state will be monitoring school zones in an effort to keep students safe as they travel to and from school. Please obey all traffic laws.
Working closely with our school district has become one of our top priorities. Today Donnie , who will be starting school in the near future, came by to get a tour of the police station. Officer Steiner explained all of the rooms and equipment we use. Donnie was able to be fingerprinted
and photographed for the child safe program and Officer Steiner took some additional time to stress the importance of being a good student and person to Donnie. *photo permission was granted by parent*

The Village of Cuba Department of Public Works will be conducting Spring fire hydrant flushing and maintenance beginning Monday, April 24- Thursday April 27, 2017 from 7a.m.-4p.m. daily until all hydrants are flushed. Village residents can expect mild water discoloration as hydrants are flushed in their area and may wish to cease running laundry machines or automatic ice makers until completion. Water is safe for bathing and consumption but residents are advised to simply run their faucets momentarily to let the initial water pass. For any questions on this flushing process or to report a problem with a local hydrant, please contact the Cuba Village Office, 17 East Main St., Cuba, or (585) 968-1560 during office hours Monday-Thursday 7a.m.-4:30p.m. and Friday 7:30a.m.-11:30a.m.
