Ithaca Businessman Seeks to Challenge Reed

A challenger has been announced for Congressman Tom Reed’s 23rd District seat. The Ithaca Voice reports that Ian Golden will seek the Democratic nomination for the 2018 race.  Golden is the owner of Finger Lakes Running and Triathlon Company and is a political newcomer.  He says that his business background, as well as his upbringing in rural Pennsylvania, will help him connect with potential constituents across the district.  The 23rd district covers 11 counties, including all of Allegany, Cattaragus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tompkins, and Yates, as well as parts of Ontario, and Tioga.
