Democrats Donate to Rushford Food
Pantry
Belmont, NY – The Allegany County
Democratic Committee partnered recently with Rise Up Wellsville for a NO KINGS
Rally in Wellsville. An estimated 300
individuals gathered peacefully for music and conversation, a “Honk and Wave”,
and to participate in a live reading of the Declaration of Independence and the
U. S. Constitution.
In addition, attendees generously
brought non-perishable food and personal care item -- more than 30 bags full --
which have been donated to the Rushford Community Food pantry to restock its
shelves for local families in need. This
is one of the ways the Democratic Committee lives its motto: “Serving
our Community.”
In addition, 15 bags of pet food and pet
supplies were donated to the pantry by Western NY Food for Paws, which, with
this donation, establishes services into Allegany County. With the motto
“Helping Families Stay Together, One Bowl at a Time,” this non-profit was
created to support food pantries that provide pet food to families
experiencing financial hardships. Thanks to the Giant Food Marts in Cuba
and Wellsville, which are now hosting donation barrels in their stores, all local
donations will be given to Allegany County food pantries.
The
Rushford Community Food Pantry is located at 9103 County Road 7 in Rushford and
is open every 3rd Saturday of the month from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Those needing assistance can call 716-801-5415 for more information.
The Allegany County Democratic
Committee is the official governing body for the County Party, working toward
broader representation by Democrats at the local, state, and national
levels. Sign up to receive our monthly
