Wellsville, NY— At its biennial organizational meeting on September 30th, members of the county Democratic committee elected a new chair and executive officers.  Karen Ash of Angelica now leads the organization. Other officers elected to a two-year term include Mark Holt (Andover) Vice Chair; Karen Patterson (Alfred) Treasurer; Jackie Wilson (Alfred Station) Secretary; and Maureen Holt (Andover) Parliamentarian.

In addition to the five officers, Legislative District Representatives were elected to the Executive Committee. They are Martha Sabato (Rushford) Dist. 1; Merdith Chilson (Amity) Dist. 2; Julie Fletcher (Bolivar) Dist. 3; Don Bowie (Andover) Dist. 4; and Walter Mason (Alfred) Dist. 5.

Ash remarked, “I’m incredibly proud of our members and our scores of volunteers, who have devoted themselves over the past ten years to truly meaningful community service and remarkable organizational growth.  We have built a strong foundation for continued success and accomplishment. I am honored to work alongside these fine Democrats as we lead our local party into the future.”

Retiring chair Michael McCormick (Andover) said, "For the past 12 years I have had the privilege of serving as Chairman. Our committee has gained many new contributing members increasing our visibility throughout the county. I want to thank former Chairwoman Barb Hetzel for her guidance, and all of our current and former committee members who contributed to our fundraisers, straw polls and community events.”
