Potter County: Jury selection scheduled for Nov. 5th in massive first responder theft of funds case

Sometimes, justice moves at a snails pace. So it seems in the criminal case against now, 36-year-old Scott Andrew Luce of Genesee, PA. The former treasurer for the Genesee Fire and Ambulance agencies faces 128 felony and misdemeanor counts for allegedly stealing close to $100,000 from the volunteer organizations in 2017. More than three years later, the case appears headed for trial. According to the Court of Common Pleas of Potter County, jury selection has been ordered to begin on November 5th. This case, according to online records, has had numerous delays and postponements.

Luce was previously convicted of stealing more than $10,000 from the Independence Emergency Squad in Allegany County, NY. In 2017 he was sentenced to a three year conditional discharge. He had to make restitution in the amount of $11,969.64.
