There was no "robbery" at Dollar General in Wellsville

Police scanner world went wild Friday morning when there was a mention of a  possible robbery at one of the two Dollar General stores in Wellsville. The reality was much less exciting (and thankfully). Here's the Wellsville Police Department press release regarding the Friday morning incident:

Wellsville Police arrested Joshua T. Sylvester, age 38 of Auburn, NY, charging him with Attempted Petit Larceny and Criminal Trespass 2nd. The charges stem from an incident that took place at the Dollar General on West Dyke Street in the Village of Wellsville.  Sylvester was issued an appearance ticket and released.  Sylvester is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on June 23rd at 4:30 p.m.
