Part of the Open Meetings Law is suspended, Allegany County Legislature to meet via video or conference call

This message is from Brenda Rigby Riehle, Clerk of the Board
Allegany County Board of Legislators:
Governor Cuomo’s recently issued executive order 202.1 suspended portions of the Open Meetings Law that would prohibit us from holding meetings through video conferencing or conference call.  Please note that effective immediately and until further notice, all Allegany County standing committee meetings and Board meetings will be held through video conferencing or conference call, and the County Office Building will no longer be open for visitors or members of the public to physically attend meetings.

Arrangements have been made to hold our March 23, 2020, Ways & Means Committee and Board meetings through a conference bridge, and we are also looking into recording the meeting.  The phone number you will want to dial is 268-5800, and when prompted, you will need to enter bridge #29220 to access the call.  To join the Ways & Means Committee meeting, please plan to call from your phone just a few minutes before the meeting starts at 1:00 p.m. to listen in, and to listen to the Board meeting, please plan to call just a few minute before 2:00 p.m.  If you are not a Legislator, please plan to mute your phone to limit background noise.  Our system can currently accommodate 65 callers, and we are in the process of looking into recording the meetings so that they will be available on the website or through other social media avenues.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation and consideration during this difficult time
