Marion E. “Jack” Mitterer, 90, of Coudersport, PA, died
Friday, March 6, 2020 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport. Born August 14, 1929, in Fox
Hill, Ulysses, PA, he was the son of Franklin E. and Dorothy May Mitterer. On
October 25, 1953, in Clairton, PA, he married the former Phyllis J. Lukach, who
predeceased him on September 18, 2018. A 1948 graduate of Ulysses High School,
he was employed by DCNR at Ole Bull State Park for 26 years, retiring as a
foreman. Jack was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Brookland, PA,
the Audubon Society, Lewisville Lodge #556 F&AM in Ulysses, and the
Coudersport Consistory. Surviving are: a son, Joseph (Cathy) Mitterer of
Albers, IL; three grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Lindow, Candace (Todd) Moore, and
Jeremiah Mitterer; five great-grandchildren, Paige Kellerman, Ella Kellerman,
Gwendelyn Lindow, Renley Lindow, and Cullen Lindow; a brother, Marvin A.
(Ellen) Mitterer of Trumansburg, NY; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition
to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Christopher E. Mitterer on March 19,
2019; and two sisters, Marlene A. Patrick in 1984 and Maxine Graham in 2011.
Memorials may be made to Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 247, Ulysses,
PA 16948. Cremation was at Olney-Foust Crematory. Burial will be in Fox Hill
