JMH: NY State of Health opens special enrollment period

WELLSVILLE, NY (March 18, 2020) – Do you need health insurance? The NYS of Health Marketplace has opened a special open enrollment! The open enrollment period for coverage in 2020 had previously ended in early February. This special enrollment period continues until April 15, 2020.

Open Enrollment is the period when people can enroll in a health insurance plan. For this special enrollment, you can apply over the phone by calling the Jones Memorial Hospital Patient Financial Consultants at (585) 596-4040 or (585) 596-4039. Coverage will be effective starting April 1, 2020. All New York insurers have waived cost-sharing for COVID-19 testing.

This step is being taken in light of the COVID-19 public health emergency to further protect the public health of New Yorkers. You can also apply for coverage through NY State of Health on-line at www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov, by phone at 855-355-5777.
