Police warn of National Grid scam

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to its residents about a phone scam. The person is claiming to be a representative of National Grid.  The two area codes of reported calls are 808 or 718.  They are promising to give discounts on your National Grid bills but they are requesting personal information such as social security number or account information.  Do not release any personal information or return any calls to this number.  If such a call is received, residents are encouraged to call their local police agency.
