Allegany County: Jury finds man guilty in Cuba rape case
A trial this week resulted in an Allegany County jury finding a man guilty of a sex crime. Richard Baek, 28, of Little Valley was convicted of the charge of third-degree rape. According to a court report released Friday afternoon, Baek "engaged in sexual intercourse with another person without such person's consent where such lack of consent is by reason of some factor other than incapacity to consent." The sexual assault occurred on March 6, 2018 in the Town of Cuba. Baek is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. on October 1st. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney J. Thomas Fuoco. Baek was represented by attorney Tim Ross.
