Police charge Geneva man with felony drug crimes in Wellsville


Following a joint investigation by the Wellsville Police Department and the New York State Police Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team, police arrested Brandon J. Bota, age 24 of Geneva, N.Y. charging him with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Class B Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Class B Felony).  The charges stem from an incident that took place in the Village of Wellsville in December of 2017.  Bota was located in Geneva by the New York State Police Violent Felony Warrant Team and transported to Wellsville.  Bota was processed and arraigned before Town of Friendship Justice Lewis and committed to the Allegany County Jail on $7,500.00 cash bail or $14,000.00 property bond.  Bota is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.  Wellsville Police were assisted by the New York State Police Uniformed Troopers out of Amity.
