Several tenants were displaced Monday evening after a
two-alarm fire caused heavy damage to a multi-unit complex in Coudersport. The
flames were spotted at 6 p.m. at a two story home at 391 Route 6 in the
borough. The fire had spread from the first floor to the attic. All tenants
were safely evacuated and no injuries reported. About 70 firefighters battled
the blaze. Due to fire and water damage several tenants were displaced and are
staying with friends and family and being assisted by the Red Cross. Firefighters
weren’t clear from the scene until shortly before midnight. Coudersport fire
crews brought in help from Roulette, Port Allegany, Galeton, Austin and
Shinglehouse. The cause has not yet been identified.
