Allegany County Sheriff's Blotter

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that on March 8, 2018, Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrested James M. Armstrong, age 29 of Wellsville, on an Arrest Warrant issued by the Town of Friendship Court. Armstrong was arrested without incident at the Friendship Town Court, processed, and arraigned where he was remanded to the Allegany County Jail with bail set at $500.00 cash or $1000.00 insurance bond.  Armstrong is to appear in Friendship Town Court on May 1, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. for additional court action.

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that on March 7, 2018, following a traffic stop in the Town of Friendship, with the assistance of the New York State Police and the Allegany County District Attorney’s Office, Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrested Stephanie A. Gould, age 32 of Ashville, NY for the following:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree
-Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd Degree
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with improper plates
- Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance
- Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Inspection Certificate
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with No/Inadequate Stop Lamps
- Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle on a Highway
-No/Inadequate Front License Plate
- Unsafe Tires
- No/Inadequate Plate Lamps
- No/Inadequate Muffler
- Operation a Motor Vehicle by an Unlicensed Operator
- Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument
Gould was processed and transported to the Town of Friendship Court where she was arraigned and remanded to the Allegany County Jail with Bail set at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond and scheduled to reappear in the Town of Friendship Court on May 1, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. for additional court action.




On March 12, 2018, following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, Gould was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree. Gould was processed, arraigned, and remanded back to the Allegany County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond and is due back in the Town of Friendship Court on May 1, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. for additional court action.
