Bridge Deck Repairs
I-86 over State Route 53, Town of Bath
Steuben County
The
New York State Department of Transportation today announced that work will
begin on Monday, April 24, 2017, on I-86 west bound in the town of Bath, County
of Steuben.
One
lane of I-86 WB will be closed to traffic.
Work will start with closure of the driving lane, and may then switch to
a closure of the passing lane if necessary.
Traffic will be able to travel through the open lane with no speed
reductions. Motorists will be required
to obey posted speed limits. The closure will begin Monday, April 24, 2017 and
last for approximately three weeks. This closure is to perform necessary deck repairs on the bridge carrying I-86 over State Route 53 at Exit 37. The work for this project will be performed by the NYSDOT Bridge Maintenance group out of the Kanona Shop.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
