Obituary: Cynthia A. Hanes, 60, of Mills, PA

Cynthia A. Hanes, 60, of Mills, PA, died Friday, June 5, 2020 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA. Born February 19, 1960, in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of Joseph E. and Judith A. Liepertz Hanes.  A graduate of Housatonic Valley High School, Falls Village, CT, she attended the College of St. Joseph in Rutland, VT.  Cynthia was employed as an administrative assistant by Harvard University and MIT, both in Cambridge, MA.  She had a passion for antiques and loved to research their origins. 

Surviving are:  her parents, Joseph and Judith Hanes of Mills;  a sister, Kathleen O’Connor of Oak Park, IL;  a brother, Joseph E. Hanes, Jr. of Torrington, CT;  an uncle, Robert Hanes of New Smyrna, FL;  four aunts, Harriett (Frank) Arreola of Magna, UT, Naomi Hanes of Sunderlinville, Miriam Lucy Hanes of Lawrenceville, and Beverly Channey of Bradenton, FL;  and 17 first cousins.  She was predeceased by three uncles, Herbert Hanes, Harry Hanes, and William Hanes; an aunt, Lois Hanes; and two first cousins.
