Flames ripped through a Potter County barn Monday morning. Shortly before 10 a.m. Genesee fire and ambulance were called to a "fully involved" barn fire at 2056 Peet Brook Road in Andrews Settlement, Allegany Township. Additional help was brought in from Coudersport and Shinglehouse. From New York, Wellsville, Willing and Whitesville fire departments also responded to the scene. Bolivar, Wellsville and Andover departments were assigned standby assignments. Responding fire units said smoke was visible for some distance. Some vehicles near the barn were charred. It is unclear if any animals were injured.
After about two hours, mutual aid departments began to return to service. The cause is under investigation.
