UPDATE TO THE STORY HERE.
An early morning fire damaged a Town of Scio home. Scio firefighters and Wellsville Ambulance were dispatched at 4:50 a.m. to 3818 State Route 19. Fire chief Jim Ames told 911 Dispatchers the blaze was brought under control within 30 minutes. Ames also requested a response from the American Red Cross to assist two adults and two children. There were no initial reports of injuries. Utilities were also requested to the scene to shut off power and water to the residence. Several fire investigators also responded to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
Fire units returned to service at 7:06 a.m.
