On July 8th, as previously posted, Allegany County lawmakers will face a resolution that not every legislator will agree on. That measure to approve a local law will deliver at least $50,000 a year to the Town of Wellsville will help fuel the Wellsville Airport. Enter Gary Barnes...the current lawmaker representing Wellsville who, for more than 40 years, was the Wellsville Airport Manager. The retired air guy and now lawmaker says the "good share of the air traffic isn't from Wellsville...it's from Alfred...or Houghton.
Barnes says" most towns have parks, streets...but they don't have an airport."
Legislator Barnes says he expects the resolution to support the Wellsville measure will pass...but not everyone is on board.
