Court: Little Genesee man receives probation for driving while loaded on drugs with a child in the vehicle

A man from Little Genesee will spend five years on probation, and not in prison, for driving while loaded on drugs with a kid in the vehicle. In Allegany County court this morning Chad D. Griswold, 36, was sentenced to serve five years probation and serve six months of electronic home monitoring. Judge Terry Parker also fined him $1,000, said Griswold will need to utilize an ignition interlock device for one year and pay a court surcharge. His license will also be revoked for one year.
Griswold was found by police on November 5, 2018 on State Route 19 in Scio, in the middle of the road, slumped over the wheel. Police said at the time, he was under the influence of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl. There was also a child passenger in the vehicle at the time. Griswold pleaded guilty to aggravated DWI despite first being charged with an array of offenses. Police said when they first encountered Griswold, he was passed out behind the wheel.
