Family dispute ends with stabbing in Allegany

A domestic dispute on New Year's Eve ended violently in Cattaraugus County. The Sheriff's Department said words quickly escalated at a home at 3436 Buffalo Road in Allegany. During the heated exchange, deputies said a family member was stabbed and taken to Olean General for treatment. Deputies then arrested Triston R. Heitzinger, 19, of Buffalo Road. He was charged with felony counts of 1st and 2nd degree assault. He was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned and remanded to jail on $5,000 cash bail. City of Olean and Allegany police assisted.
