Allegany County sex offender gets jail time for not registering Facebook, e-mail accounts

A level-2 registered sex offender has been sentenced to one year in the Allegany County Jail for not reporting a Facebook accounts and e-mail address as required by law. Judge Thomas Brown handed down that sentence today to 22-year-old Tristin Weidman of Angelica, who pleaded guilty to failure to register and verify, a class-E felony. The incident occurred May 11, 2018 in the village of Angelica.
On March 9, 2018 Weidman was convicted of two counts of  possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. He was convicted of a similar but misdemeanor level crime in 2016.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Amanda Finn. Weidman was represented by JR Santana Carter, Assistant Public Defender.
