IMPACT:
FRIENDS IMPROVING ALLEGANY COUNTY TRAILS, INC. FIRST ANNUAL TRAIL 5K RUN/HIKE
AND 10K RUN AUGUST 23, 2025, AT PHILLIPS CREEK AND TURNPIKE STATE FOREST
The first inaugural
event for IMPACT: Friends Improving Allegany County Trails, Inc. (IMPACT) will
be held on August 23, 2025, from 9 am to 12 noon at Phillips Creek and Turnpike
State Forrest. The 5K Hike/Run and 10K Run is dedicated this year in memory of
founding Board members Pam Schu and Gail Bartas.
The
gathering location will be at the DEC Phillips Creek parking area on State
Route 244. 10K runners will start promptly at 9 am, 5K hikers and runners at
9:15 am. Awards for first, second and third places will be given for four
divisions as follows: Male, Female, Hikers and Teams. The registration fee for
10K runners is $35/non-members of IMPACT, $30 for members of IMPACT. 5K Hikers
and Runners registration fee is $25 for non-members of IMPACT, $20 for members
of IMPACT. There is a special rate for Teams to enter at $15/person.
Prior
registration is encouraged by August 1st, 2025. All runners and
hikers that register by August 1, 2025, will receive a T-shirt designed for the
event. To register, go to the website www.impactfriendsgroup.org/events/runwalk. Registrations will be accepted
until August 22, 2025. However, the souvenir T-shirt may not be available if
registering after August 1st.
Sponsorship
opportunities are still available. If applying prior to August 1st,
sponsors will have their logo/name on the event T-shirt and banner. For more

Founded in
July 2021, IMPACT: Friends Improving Allegany County Trails, Inc is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit charitable organization. The mission is to improve and maintain high
quality all season public trails in Allegany County for equestrians, hikers, cross-country
skiers, snow shoers, bikers, and nature lovers.
IMPACT
volunteers work under a voluntary stewardship agreement with the New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Local DEC foresters supervise
and contribute to the trail improvement and maintenance projects that we
organize and implement. DEC ensures that our trail work meets their technical
and environmental standards.
