FRIENDSHIP, NY - A free public luncheon and a musical performance by A Band Called Hope have been scheduled for Sunday in Friendship.
Hosted by the What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of churches, the activities will be held at the Bible Baptist Church at 43 West Main Street.
The events will follow the church's 11AM Sunday, May 18, service, with the luncheon at 12:30PM and the concert at 1:30PM. The public is invited to attend any or all of the activities.
The performance, to include voice, piano and guitar, will feature Susannah Denham, a Houghton University worship arts major, and John Wise, a Western New York songwriter and performer.
The duo, part of a variety of musical forms which range from solo artists to nine-piece bands, offers live music in various genres, from hymns through the Jesus Music of the 1970s and contemporary Christian songs which are heard on today's radio.
The group says it is “passionate about growing in Christ and encouraging other believers and non-believers through music and song.”
Denham, a University junior, sings in the Houghton University Choir and Chamber Choir, along with leading worship through various student bands.
Wise oversees the loose collaboration of experienced musicians from various denominations and backgrounds who come together to provide audiences a quality worship or concert experience.
