On May 17, 2025, at approximately 3:25 P.M, Troopers out of SP Amity located a stolen vehicle in the village of Bolivar. Troopers performed a vehicle and traffic stop in the parking lot of Crosby’s Gas Station. During the arrest of a female suspect, she violently resisted and stabbed one Trooper just above the eye and another in the head. In response to the assault, one of the Troopers discharged their Division-issued firearm, but did not strike the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody with minor injuries. The Trooper who suffered an eye injury is in serious condition and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation are assisting, and charges are pending.
No public threat at this time.
